Meet Sarah Stokes
Sarah holds a BS in Biology and Environmental Studies from Warren Wilson College in North Carolina and an MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana. She was recently Project Manager for The Garden City Harvest Project in Missoula, Montana, developing and managing a collaborative project providing high quality local poultry to people in need as well as educating the community about sustainable food systems and agriculture. She also spent a year as a Farm Fellow in an ecological agriculture program where she was student manager of a five-acre community/educational farm. She has been an environmental educator for a number of years and helped to develop a youth urban forestry program in Washington, DC.
Sarah is an alumna of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps, is a certified chainsaw operator through the NC Forest Service and a PADI certified Scuba Dive Master. She has traveled to Guatemala, El Salvador, Belize, Honduras, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand as well as the U.S. and is proficient in conversational Spanish. This past summer, she led two teams of Landmark volunteers, one at Morgan Horse Farm in Vermont and the other at Wagon Road Camp in New York.
