Meet Esty Stein
Esty holds a BA in Sociology from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, and is currently both mentoring and organizing programs and events for college students at the University of Hartford. Most importantly she creates service projects for the students and provides them with the motivation and resources to get involved in current social issues.
Prior to this, Esty received a fellowship, which sent her to Ghana where she was conducting research on domestic violence and involved in a girl’s education and child trafficking program. She is very passionate about traveling and volunteering both domestically and abroad.
Whether working for Outward Bound leading canoe courses, or serving as a ropes course facilitator for Genesee Valley, Esty has had a diverse range of experience leading groups. Esty is a Landmark alumna, having volunteered herself in 2001 at the Spotted Bear Ranger District in Montana. As a result of doing this program when she was 17, Esty went on to participate in many outdoor and volunteer programs, which have shaped who she is today. She truly enjoys working for Landmark and in 2006 she supervised the team at Gould Farm and in 2007 Esty led two programs, one at Gould Farm and the other at Sharon Audubon Center.
One of her life goals is to trek Mt. Everest, or at least make it to base camp.
