TEAM STORIES

Meet Katherine Farmer
Katherine holds a B.S. in biology with a secondary concentration in French from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She first became involved with Landmark in 2000 as a volunteer in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, and in 2001 as a volunteer in Olympia National Park. In 2007, she was a team leader in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan.

During her time in Maine, Katherine was a council member of the Bates Outing Club, designing and leading outdoor excursions for other students. She was also involved in leading wilderness trips for incoming freshmen. In addition, she was an active volunteer in the Lewiston Public School System, and was a 'junior advisor', where she acted as a mentor to several first year college students.

Katherine currently works as a research assistant at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, and has a strong interest in pursuing a career in medicine.
