Meet Caroline Byrd
Caroline Byrd is a student at Columbia University School of Social Work where she is working toward a Masters of Social Work. She earned a BA in Spanish and another in European Studies from Rollins College and holds an International Baccalaureate Diploma from the International Academy in Bloomfield Hills, MI. She has been working as a bilingual social work intern at Middle School 390 in Bronx, NY and prior to that did research for the Office of Farm Worker Ministry in Orlando, FL. Caroline also worked as a teacher/social worker for the Ixtatan Foundation in San Mateo Ixtatan, Guatemala, for the summer of 2005.

Able to speak Spanish fluently, Caroline is culturally and linguistically experienced. She has traveled to 40 countries for both leisure and service, and has experience working with diverse and at-risk populations. As a teenager, Caroline participated as a Landmark volunteer as well as volunteering for the American Field Service and Global Works Inc. This past summer, she led her first team of Landmark volunteers at Perkins School for the Blind in Massachusetts.
