TEAM STORIES

Nicholas Theisen
Nicholas Theisen was raised on the beautiful pastoral lands of southeastern Wisconsin.  Upon graduating from high school he journeyed to Colorado beckoned by the blue skies and endless mountains.  He attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO where he graduated with a B.S. in Parks and Protected Area Management.  After spending four years in college Nicholas had an even stronger yearning for open spaces, expeditions, and self-renewal.  So, Nicholas did what any young, energetic, 20-something would have done.  He packed his bags and went on a solo bicycle journey from Colorado to Alaska covering 3800 miles of the most spectacular landscape and human interaction (and sometimes bear interaction) anyone could ever dream of.

Once back in Colorado, Nicholas began working at Guidestone Farm and Center for Sustainable living where he started and directs a Farm-based youth education program called Farmhands.  He lives in a Tipi, works the land, and inspires the youth from spring until fall, and in winter he explores the lands and cultures south of the border.
