Meet Diane Decker
Diane is the Director of Development at an independent elementary school in Massachusetts. She holds a Master of Liberal Arts in History from Harvard University and a BS in Marketing with a minor in Psychology from San Diego State University.
A deep love of travel led Diane on a two-year solo backpacking expedition after college through 25 countries on five continents. She has also hiked the Appalachian Trail for two months, lived in the backcountry of Alaska, and lived and worked on a dude ranch one summer in Big Sky, Montana. In addition to her passion for travel, Diane believes that volunteerism should be a way of life. For several years she has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children under the care of the Department of Social Services, a mentor through Rhode Island Sponsoring Education, and a member of the annual fundraising event committee at a school for inner-city girls in Providence, RI.
Diane says “the team of volunteers I worked with truly enjoyed their two weeks of trail maintenance work with the Washington Trails Association. The group took pride in their work and felt a great sense of accomplishment. It was physically demanding and the days were long, but the volunteers had a whole lot of fun!”
